With a prime lens, zoom is one less thing you worry about. Paired with my smartphone no problem. I am so impressed with this Nikon 26499! It wont replace a DSLR but it comers pretty close. Love that a strap, case and lens cover came with it, among other things.

"Really great camera."

I feel that it takes better pictures than the DSC-HX50. A great camera for the money and my needs! After taking a photo, it would not focus or operate, or so it seemed. This camera far exceeded my expectations. Personally, I preferred it to have a wider lens, say 28mm equivalent.

"All in my Pelican case."

It's got pretty much everything I could want in a Viewfinder Point & Shoot Digital Camera. Ergonomics count, especially when you get used to Panasonic's excellent system--wow! While the 24-70 seems good, I can’t wait for a new Panasonic DC-FZ1000M2. Or, you can select all-manual, if you want to set everything yourself. Auto-ISO is on the conservative side, which I would like to have more control over.

Overall, I'm really impressed with this little Panasonic DC-FZ1000M2. I don't really see a good excuse for that, wildlife photos may prove nearly impossible.
